"When you take your mala, just center yourself: the eyes are seeing the form, the mind is seeing the eyes, but myself — I am the witness of the mind. Now I've come out of the sludge … to the marginal point. Now I'm on the shore … waiting for the mercy of … Krishna's spiritual energy."
Take your beads and focus. The eye sees the form; the mind sees the eye; but who sees the mind? You yourself — sākṣī, the witness of the mind, not the mind itself. You have already stepped out of matter to the border point, taṭastha-śakti: you sit on the ocean shore and wait for the mercy of Krishna's spiritual energy. Thoughts arrive like waves — don't get pulled in, be more patient than a tree, let them rise and pass. The perfection of yoga is separating yourself not from external things, but from your own mind.
Sit on the shore of taṭastha. Don't fight the waves — wait for Krishna's mercy.
