In the middle of her adolescence Rādhikā walks with her hand on the shoulder of a sakhī — as a princess takes the support of a friend. Only this friend is a movement of her own heart, taken form. She thinks: I should send a message to Krishna — and the thought has already become a sakhī, and the sakhī has already set out with the message. Let the kuñja be decorated with this flower, and let it have this fragrance, and this painting, and these cups here — and they are already running about, decorating it. Hear the līlā described and you will think: well, some friends are decorating a bower. But it is not like that at all.
