"By the cause of mercy of Śrī Guru and Gaurāṅga, we are hearing the divine conversation between Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Śrī Rāmānanda. Now please come with me and sit down peacefully on the bank of Godāvarī and overhear what they are saying."
A conversation like this is not explained from outside — you are seated beside it. Gurudeva begins by saying that everything heard from here on comes by the mercy of Guru and Gaurāṅga, not by the strength of your understanding. So the first move is simple: go and sit down. The river at sunset, the grass by the water pressed where someone has just been sitting, the place left open. Two of them are speaking on the bank of the Godāvarī, and out of that speaking comes the very ocean of bhakti-rasa in whose waves they are already flying — the bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu. You do not need to sort out the rungs before sitting down. You need to sit quietly and overhear.
Begin today's first round as if on that bank — quiet, and listening.
