Kṛṣṇa says this not about others but about Himself, and says it as an admission of guilt. He goes through everyone He can settle accounts with: the residents of Vaikuṇṭha, the servants, the friends, the elders of Vraja — there reciprocation is possible. And He stops at the gopīs. Gurudeva opens the word saṁyujā: sam-yuj, full union, when nothing remains in the consciousness but Him — and adds niravadya, spotless. There is nothing to repay it with: any return gift is smaller than the gift. An empty pan of the scales, and on the other one flower that nothing outweighs.
